UPDATED - WEDNESDAY 15:06*
WARNINGS for heavy rain have been issued for the Isle of Wight by the Met Office.
The yellow 'be aware' warnings are in place from 00.05am on Friday to 6am on Saturday. A weather warning, issued yesterday, for Thursday evening has now been lifted.
The Met Office said: "There is the potential for periods of heavy rain across much of the southern half of the UK from the beginning of Friday until Saturday morning."
The chief forecaster said: "20-40mm of rain could fall quite widely during this period, with totals locally as high as 60mm.
"This could lead to localised flooding, especially where the ground is already saturated due to recent wet weather.
"Additionally in the south, strong winds could blow leaves into drains and exacerbate these conditions."
