RESCUERS have come to the aid of two fossil hunters in trouble on an Isle of Wight beach this afternoon (Thursday).
The two geology students called for help at 12.50pm after becoming stuck at Thorness Bay while looking for fossils.
Cowes RNLI Lifeboat duty launch authority Harry Leslie said: "The coastguard called Cowes RNLI Lifeboat to reports of two people in difficulty.
"It was a joint operation between Cowes lifeboat and Needles Coatguard Rescue team."
The two students were collected from the beach by the lifeboat and returned to Cowes Town Quay.
