FREE events will be staged next week to encourage Isle of Wight children with disabilities to dance and mime.

Dance with a Difference is a weekly event and is open to children aged three to ten years old, normally costing £2 for each child.

There are two events next week — both offered free to parents under the short breaks scheme.

It uses music and dance to help children develop their creative and social skills at the same time as taking part in exercise.

The first free session is held on Tuesday between 5-6pm at St John's Church Hall in Drake Road, Newport.

The second is on Thursday also between 5-6pm at West Wight Sports Centre, Moa Place, Freshwater.

Parents need to register by contacting Lesley Forde at the Family Information Zone on 821999, by emailing lesley.forde@iow.gov.uk or by contacting the activity provider Lynda Burroughs on 551478 or 07716774123.
