Fun and learning on the beach

Training to become a beach schools practitioner.

PEOPLE with an interest in nature and working with children are being urged to take part in a new beach schools training course.

The beach schools programme, based on the already popular forest schools project, is about encouraging children and young people to explore their environment, learn new skills and take an interest in nature.

People are needed to lead the sessions and a training course for beach schools practitioners will be held at Oakfield CE Primary School, Ryde, on May 29 and 30.

A spokesman for Archimedes Training, which will run the course, said: "The beach schools practitioner course is perfect for anyone already working with or who would like to work with children and enables the participant to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding to set up a run their own programmes."
