A FUN event to encourage people on the Isle of Wight to exercise is to take place next month.
The event is the first to be arranged by the Isle of Wight Council after securing a £250,000 grant from Sport England's Community Sport Activation Fund
The fund enabled the Isle of Wight Council to employ two community sport activators, whose job is to encourage people to become involved with sport.
The first event will be a free, family run, walk or jog of 2.5km or 5km from Medina Leisure Centre at 10am.
Executive member for community well-being Cllr Steve Stubbings said: "The council's new community sports activators have been tasked with creating opportunities across the Island, because it is important there is a lot of choice for people of all ages."
