THERE is just one day left to earn the chance to get exclusive backstage access at this year’s Ventnor Fringe and Isle of Wight Film Festivals.

In a special partnership, between Ventnor Fringe, the Isle of Wight Film Festival and the Isle of Wight County Press, we are looking for four emerging journalists who will be provided with an access all areas pass to any performance or event of their choice — with the challenge of reviewing all the work they see.

This year’s Ventnor Fringe is due to feature the talents of more than 200 participants and the Isle of Wight Film Festival will feature top cinema from around the world.

Three of the team will cover the action at the Fringe, one of the team will be asked to focus their attention on this year’s Isle of Wight Film Festival, which is taking place over the same dates, August 15 to 18.

Each day the reviews will be published online for audiences to see and a selection of the best will be printed in the following week’s County Press.

"We are looking for talented individuals with an original voice, interested in a range of mediums and who love to discover new and emerging artists," said fringe founder Jack Whitewood.

This exciting opportunity is open to all 16 to 24 year olds from the Island and all you need to do to enter is send a 250-word review of an arts event, film, gig or exhibition you have recently seen and a panel of judges from Ventnor Fringe Festival, the Isle of Wight Film Festival and the County Press will select their favourites.

RULES

The deadline for entries is noon, tomorrow (Friday).

Entries must be entirely the author’s own work. Members of staff at County Press and Ventnor Fringe Festival and their relatives are not eligible to enter. Entries can be sent to Ventnor Fringe Festival/IW County Press, Brannon House, 123 Pyle Street, Newport, PO30 1ST, or e-mail reviewthefringe@iwcp.co.uk

The judges’ decision is final.
