But for now it's all about having a positive attitude - we will win the championship, get promoted, win that cup final - and with just a week of the season to go, all of our teams are involved in these crucial matters.

In the premier division, Dulwich Hamlet had a fine 1-0 win away at Canvey Island to set them up nicely for their London Challenge Cup final against Uxbridge at Dagenham on Wednesday, May 3.

On the same day (May 3), Croydon FC will play host to Purfleet in the Full Members Cup Final.

In division one, Croydon FC only drew 1-1 at home to Bishop Stortford. But one point is better than none and the result edges Croydon nearer to promotion and the championship.

Still in division one, Whyteleafe took another step towards a top-three finish. They also have a cup semi final to play and, in current form, look good to meet Havant and Waterlooville in the final of the Southern Floodlight Cup.

Whyteleafe had sweet revenge against Barton Rovers in division three. Having lost the away fixture in the final minute of the game, Whyteleafe made no such mistake in the home tie, winning 4-2.

Croydon Athletic kept their chances of promotion alive with a good 3-0 win away to in-form Flackwell Heath. I did say, some time ago, in this column that they would be there or thereabouts in the final weeks of the season.

Finally, the results of the Bank Holiday games. Dulwich Hamlet lost 5-1 at home to Gravesend and Northfleet; Croydon had a fine 2-1 away win at Leatherhead; Whyteleafe lost a vital away game at Bromley 3-2; and Croydon Athletic surprisingly lost 1-0 at home to Corinthian Casuals.

This Saturday, Dulwich Hamlet travel to Hitchin Town, Croydon FC play host to Staines Town, Whyteleafe welcome Maidenhead United and Croydon Athletic travel to Camberley Town.
