The sight of Spice Girl Mel B strutting her stuff before Crystal Palace'sbig match with Sheffield United was anything but scary as theSpice-E-Girls tribute band treated fans to a selection of the band'sbiggest hits. As part of a specially organised family funday which allowedU16s in for £1, the day also saw a spectacular parachute drop by theRAF Falcons, as well as clowns, face painting, juggling and free chocolatecourtesy of sponsors Nestle. But the fun and frolics did end in agony forone RAF parachutist who fell awkwardly during the drop and broke his legin two places, causing the kick off to be delayed by 10 minutes.

Despite this misfortune, club spokesman Terry Byfield said the day was asuccess and the club was looking into repeating the event. Sasa Curciccompleted a memorable day for the Eagles on the pitch grabbing a vitalwinner.
