Great South Run challenge for all ages

DOZENS of youngsters from the Isle of Wight will be crossing the Solent to take part in the Bupa Junior and Mini Great South Run on Saturday.

More than 30 Isle of Wight children are due to take part in the the Portsmouth event, which is part of the Bupa Great South Run weekend of events.

Children aged from three to 15 years, will be challenged to compete in 1.5km and 2.5km runs.

On Sunday it will be the adults’ turn, as they take on the Great South Run 10 mile route, which will pass the Historic Dockyard. The race is due to be shown on Channel 5.
