Hertsmere's win-lose pattern continued on Sunday as they ground out a tough victory against a spirited Oakhill side.

Conditions were poor, with a sticky pitch and gale-force wind making life difficult for two sides who love to play attractive football.

It was tight throughout the first half, with Daniel Walsh making a couple of crucial saves when Oakhill got past John Grace and Charlie Watts at the back.

At the break it was all square, with Hertsmere having to play uphill, more or less into the wind.

After a host of changes, Hertsmere came out strongly and, apart from one or two clear chances, Oakhill never threatened them.

As the game moved into the last quarter, Hertsmere struck the vital blow, when Dunne pressurised an Oakhill defender into a mistake and, from the loose ball, he found Jamie Buckley who curled a lovely shot past the keeper into the net.
