GREYHOUND is to axe its luxury bus services.
The services from Southampton and Portsmouth to London, which included travel deals on the Island and across The Solent, cease on November 17.
"Unfortunately, these services are not seeing sufficient passenger numbers and therefore we have reached the difficult decision to withdraw the buses from the routes," said a Greyhound spokesman.
"We would like to thank our Solent customers for travelling with Greyhound UK and can assure them they will continue to enjoy the same quality service right up until we stop operating."
The luxury buses, with leather seats, extended legroom and wi-fi, faced stiff competition on the routes from National Express.
The Greyhound service was launched more than three years ago, promising direct, low-cost travel to London.
