Guilty verdict in murder trial

THE husband of a former Isle of Wight woman has been found guilty of her murder.

Mark Arthur, 50, was found guilty of murdering Heather Arthur at their home in Gosforth, following a unanimous decision by a jury at Newcastle Crown Court today (Wednesday), following a trial which started last week.

He is due to be sentenced tomorrow (Thursday).

Fifty-one-year-old Mrs Arthur, nee Naylor, was originally from Ryde and attended St Therese Presentation Convent and Medina High School.
