WITH the news Stevie Wonder will headline Bestival in September, is this a vintage year for Island festivals?
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will close the Isle of Wight Festival at Seaclose in June and a host of other top acts will appear at both events.
It is not just these two festivals, there is the new WOWFest scheduled for August, with a bill of reggae, ska and blues acts, Tom Jones at Osborne house in July, next month's Isle of Arts festival and in August it is time for Ventnor Fringe.

Mr.Macdonald it would appear that our erstwhile adversary Mr.Gardner was indeed a forbearer in the world of men's haute couture but his empire was built on the blood, sweat and tears of many others who toiled in his purpose built sweatshop in Yarm. He is an enemy of free thinkers like myself and Tom Wolfe and we will continue our struggle to free the world of capitalistic dictators like Mr.Gardner...be warned a sir a wind of change is coming...and it isn't just low tide that stinks!

sour grapes ? why ? it was indeed a long time ago and it is long forgotten i can tell you. for your guidance i have long been a very successful fashion designer, some of my creations have been on the finest catwalks. indeed my last was kindly described as the biggest fashion innovation since the introduction of rifat ozbek's taffeta lined bombazine donkey jackets. do you still think i'm sore about a silly accordian exam now ??

quite plainly mr mcdonald you are a fraud and a charlatan, using this forum as your soapbox, in a vain attempt to promote your standing on the island. well i can tell you mr clever duds, that anyone remotely connected to the irish folk scene knows that the accordian player with the dubliners was barney mckenna so the question is why would you seek to pretend to be him ? but then i suppose, in truth, no-one could really give a pogue

wonder, jones, steps, springsteen !! arent we just being used by these 'have been' buskers as a meal ticket. they'll rock up on their souped up invalid carriages and give us 2 verses of the lambeth walk and only charge 40 quid a ticket for the privelige. come on, smell the bacon !! as usual the all rounds good eggs of the isle of wight are being exploited and i, for one, will have no part of it. if they decided to play in my back garden i would smartly close the windows tightly shut and draw the drapes !!
