Having a ball for a good cause

The Prince and Princess Ball has been organised to help children on the Isle of Wight.

A CHARITY ball will be held to celebrate and raise money for children on the Isle of Wight.

The Prince and Princess Ball will raise money for children's charity campaigns KissyPuppy, Sophie Rolf's fund, Chelsea's Wishes, Finley Morris' fund, the Help Gracie-May Walk campaign and the Katie Baxter Bed fund and all money raised will be split equally.

Organiser Michaela White said: "I did auctions for some of the children last year and I was looking for something a bit different to do this year.

"I thought about a ball and put a message out on Facebook asking if anyone knew a good location and within 24 hours I had a venue, people offering services and people asking for tickets."

The ball will be held at Newclose County Cricket Ground on Saturday, April 26, from 7pm and guests will enjoy a string quartet, belly dancers, a ballroom dancing session to the music of the Disney princesses, a raffle and auction and a disco.

Tickets cost £20 per adult, a table for eight costs £140 and a table for ten costs £180. Children are also welcome to the ball and tickets cost £10.

Michaela added: "We want the ball to raise money so the children can look forward to the future with hope.

"We want to celebrate what's great about Island children and to raise money for each of the children's funds."

Around 100 of the 300 tickets available have already been sold and tickets need to be purchased by March 31. E-mail Michaela at Michaela.fundraising@gmail.com or Michaela.White@Tesco.net or call 01983 812178 to reserve tickets, and visit the ball's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/events/265048320318217/ for more information.
