Heaven sent zombies

Isle of Wight iPad game developer Lindon Heaven who has created The Dead Keep Rising.

A COMPUTER programmer from the Isle of Wight has created the perfect shoot-em-up for trigger-happy gamers with a thirst for blood splattering zombie mayhem.

What’s more, the arcade shooter has been developed for iPad allowing zombie-slayers to indulge their passion while on the go.

TheDeadKeepRising is the debut game of Lindon Heaven, of Sandown, who has been programming for around eight years.

The aim of the top-down shooter is to defend the graveyard gates from hordes of flesh-eating zombies, using an arsenal of different weapons.

He had the idea while working on the garden at Morton Manor, Brading, where he is head gardener.

Lindon, 42, said: "The game is quickly immersive and has fast paced action from the start.

"Game play can last for as long as the player has at any one given time — be it a five minute wait at the bus stop or an evening of blood splattering zombie mayhem."

The game, which has taken four months to develop, is also linked to GameCenter so players can compare scores online and receive goals for key moments within the game.

L Heaven Games was founded in 2012 by Lindon in his spare bedroom.

He has previously written indie games for the PC but this has been his first published project.

TheDeadKeepRising was launched simultaneously in the UK and USA yesterday and will initially be free of charge.
