A WEATHER warning for heavy rain over the Isle of Wight has been lifted this morning (Thursday).

The yellow 'be aware' warning for heavy rain was originally in place until noon today and was later extended by the Met Office to be valid until 4pm.

But forecasters said at 11:05am today (Thursday) the Isle of Wight was no longer in the affected area.

According to the Met Office's forecast for the Isle of Wight Festival there will be some light rain tomorrow (Friday) with conditions becoming sunnier in the afternoon with highs of 16C.

Saturday is set to be the best day of the weekend — dry with sunny spells and a high of 16C, light rain is forecast from 10pm.

There will be heavy rain through the night into Sunday morning, with the rain easing by lunchtime with sunny spells and a high of 17C. Sunday evening is forecast to be dry according to the Met Office.

*Vectis 4x4 Response said Met Office had forecast strong winds tomorrow, with gusts of up to 48mph, the equivalent of Force 9, during the afternoon.
