GALE force gusts are expected to hit the Isle of Wight Festival this afternoon (Friday).
Following yesterday's heavy rain, which caused chaos across the Isle of Wight, the Met Office has forecast strong winds in Newport this afternoon.
Organisers have said they will not open the main stage, Strawberry Fields or Penny Lane areas of the site until 4pm as a result.
According to Met Office, there will be gusts of up to 46mph, rated as a strong gale, with general wind speeds of around 25mph.
The wind is expected to die down later today, but could return overnight between Saturday and Sunday.
