PATTERNS, shapes and numbers were the themes when children at Fawbert and Barnard's Primary School, Old Harlow, dressed up to mark the end of maths week.

The children spent the week taking part in a variety of maths-based activities, including quizzes, designing a maths game, and workshops designed to develop their mathematical skills.

Maths co-ordinator Michelle Spate said: "We really had a tremendous week. The children were very busy and there were lots of different activities for them to do.

"At the end of the week the children came in fancy dress and we had some really good costumes. There were quite a few playing cards and dice, as well as calculators and clocks. It was good fun."
