A GLITTERING charity dinner and dance at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, Cowes, raised hundreds of pounds for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

The second Sunflower Ball was staged on Friday and attended by 64 guests with music supplied by Isle of Wight Radio and the band, Cornerstone.

Guests enjoyed a dinner of mushroom tartlets, pork and cheesecake before taking part in a raffle, which raised £560 for the hospice.

Community fundraiser for the hospice, Louise Watson, said: "It was a very pleasant evening."
