THE forthcoming retirement of several trustees means the Earl Mountbatten Hospice is on the look out for Islanders who have the necessary knowledge, skills and expertise to join its board.
The voluntary positions would start in the new year and the hospice is looking for people who have empathy with its mission and values.
The hospice provides care, comfort and support to people living with and dying from a life-threatening illness on the Island.
The board of trustees is responsible to the Charity Commission for the governance and strategic direction of the hospice.
Chief executive Graham Elderfield said: "The hospice is going through an exciting period of change, as the government’s strategy on end-of-life care begins to be implemented locally by the primary care trust."
"As the Island’s favourite charity, we are looking for people from within the community who can help us work in partnership with the NHS, care homes and all associations caring for people at the end of their lives."
The closing date for anyone interested in applying is December 20.
