Emergency services at the scene.
A HOTEL was evacuated due to concerns about chemicals and a person's welfare this afternoon (Thursday).
Travelodge hotel in Lugley Street, Newport was evacuated at about 3.15pm.
The road was closed while firefighters investigated a room due to concerns about possibly hazardous chemicals, however none were found.
A woman in the room has received treatment at the scene and was due to be taken to St Mary's Hospital.
Only two other guests were in the hotel at the time.
The road was re-opened by 4.15pm.
