Hovercraft maintenance leads to reduced service

HOVERTRAVEL will be operating a reduced service from February 18 to 22 to allow for routine and planned long-term maintenance on its Freedom 90 hovercraft.

The one-craft service will mean there will be a number of cancellations at peak times. Full details of the cancellations can be seen here.

Hovertravel said on its website: "This work is essential in ensuring the continuing safety and reliability of our craft.

"We would ask passengers who were intending to travel on the services now not scheduled to operate, to amend their bookings as required. Season Card holders who wish to amend their bookings will need to visit our booking offices the week prior to the maintenance period in order to amend bookings.

"In order to meet the needs of our regular customers, the following will be in place: Season Card, Travel Card, Company Ticket and Voucher holders will have priority over 'on the day' sales.

"No group bookings will be allowed between 4pm to 6pm Monday to Thursday, and 7.15am to 8.30am Tuesday to Friday."

What do you actually expect from Hovertravel, if you operate a 2 craft service common sense tells you that you need 3 craft in the case of breakdowns and maintenance.
