Barnet can't finish

Scarborough 0 Barnet 0

Barnet outplayed Scarborough for much of their midweek game at McCain Stadium, but failed to convert their dominance into goals. Despite forcing 16 corners, including 12 in the second half, poor finishing and the defiance of Scarborough 'keeper Tony Elliott restricted the visitors to a point.

The dubious distinction of the miss-of-the-match fell to Ken Charlery in the 32nd minute. The Bees' captain pounced on a backpass by Scarborough defender Neil Ladigan and chipped the ball past 'keeper Elliott, but the wrong side of the post.

Phil Simpson was inspirational, supported by Robert Sawyers and Sean Devine, as the Bees went in search of the winner. But it was all to no avail, and they almost conceded a late decider when Boro's Liam Robinson crashed a 25-yard shot against the bar.
