AROUND 650 cyclists saddled up to Cycle the Wight in aid of the British Heart Foundation on Saturday.
Held as part of the Isle of Wight Council’s Cycling Festival, riders had the choice of 50 or 70-mile routes.
Organisers said that more Islanders than ever had taken part in the event and he hoped it would raise around £10,000 for the charity.
Many riders donned fake sideburns as a tribute to Tour de France and Olympic hero Bradley Wiggins.
Neil Jarrett, the British Heart Foundation’s fundraising manager, said: "It went fantastically well. We were lucky with the weather and the event was well supported by cyclists."
