WHILE many people will be relaxing this bank holiday weekend, more than 500 people will be taking part in the Isle of Wight Challenge — a gruelling 70-mile trek around the Island.

One team attempting the epic challenge, which starts today (Saturday) is Team STP!, a multi-national group of colleagues from Whiteley-based Sandberg Translation Partners, who are walking on behalf of Island-based charity, Caring Cancer Trust.

It supports children and teenagers with cancer by providing holidays and activities to help them recuperate and rebuild their self-confidence and happiness.

Island resident and team member, Majken Hindø, heard about the charity from family who volunteer at its shop in Ryde, and so far the team has raised £2,000.

Also due to take part are Ellie Staley and Bethany Rimington Staley, who will be raising money for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance in memory of Ellie's sister Evey, who was killed in a car crash by a drink driver.
