Hundreds try to win Bestival tickets

PHONE lines were jammed this morning (Friday) as desperate readers tried to get their hands on the last tickets to Bestival 2010 and have their own party in the new Eco-house.

The County Press and Southern Electric gave one lucky caller and five friends the chance to scoop passes for the Robin Hill event.

Emma Byrne, 42, of Wootton, who scooped the prize, said: "I was thrilled to bits.

"I heard them talking about the competition on Isle of Wight Radio this morning and I thought I probably don’t have a hope in heaven of getting through.

"It’s such an amazing prize. Some of my friends and family were already going and we really wanted to go, but I just couldn’t afford the tickets. My kids are going to be so excited."

Emma and friends will not only get to see the top acts on stage, but will host their own party in the Southern Electric Eco-House, with its kinetic powered illuminated dancefloor and pedal-powered DJ decks.
