POLICE on the Isle of Wight are searching for three men in connection with an assault yesterday (Monday) in which a man was left needing hospital treatment for a head wound, which may have been caused by a blade.
The 20-year-old victim said he was assaulted on the doorstep of an address on Ashey Road by three men with their faces covered, police said.
The victim said he did not know the attackers.
Police were called to the scene shortly after 3.50pm .
An Isle of Wight police spokesman said: "He was treated at St Mary's Hospital for a cut to his head, possibly caused by a blade, and has since been discharged.
"Enquiries are ongoing to locate the men involved. No arrests have been made at this time."
