ISLE of Wight star Laura Michelle Kelly has been rubbing shoulders with some of the world's greatest actors at the Cannes Film Festival.

Laura, a former Sandown High School student, accompanied Ronan Keating on the red carpet to promote their first ever film, Goddess.

Following her first performances at Shanklin Theatre, Laura has gone on to star in a variety of London musicals, including Beauty and the Beast, My Fair Lady, Mamma Mia and Lord of the Rings.

Her first taste of Broadway success came in 2004 in Fiddler on the Roof, and later went on to star alongside Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham-Carter in the movie, Sweeney Todd.

In Goddess, Laura plays an Australian housewife who becomes an internet sensation after her music goes viral. Both Laura and Ronan sing in the film.

Goddess is described as an Australian musical comedy and is currently being screened in Cannes for potential buyers.
