More than 250 budding young artists took to the streets last week to compete in the borough's Pavement Artist of the Year contest.
The competition, pioneered by the charity Muscular Dystrophy, invited youngsters aged five to 19 to illustrate pavements in Hayes, Uxbridge, Ruislip and Harefield with paintings on the theme of wildlife in danger.
Former Blue Peter presenter Diane Louise Jordan selected 13 year-old Peter Gandon's elephant (pictured) outside the Horse and Barge pub in Harefield on Friday, June 2.
If successful in the national round of the contest, Peter's creation could soon be featuring in London's Tate Gallery.
