Inquest into harbour death

AN inquest was opened today (Friday) following the discovery of a body at Ryde Harbour on Monday.

The body of Adrian John Tilley, 48, was found in the water by a member of the public, Isle of Wight deputy coroner Hugh Calloway was told.

Mr Tilley, who was born in Yeovil, Somerset, lived on his yacht Dukara, which was moored at the harbour, the inquest heard.

The hearing was told there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

A post mortem has been held, however a cause of death has yet to be established and the coroner is awaiting the results of toxicology.

Mr Calloway adjourned the inquest to a date yet to be fixed.
