Investigation into alleged assault

AN ALLEGED attack on a teenager is being investigated by police on the Isle of Wight.

Police said the 17-year-old male victim, from the Isle of Wight, was attacked by three people in Sea Street, Newport, at around 4pm last Thursday.

He received cuts, bruises and swelling to his face and ribs.

A 15-year-old boy from the Isle of Wight was arrested on Friday, on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm, and was questioned and bailed until July 11, pending further enquiries.
