Island burials list to go online

By Emily Pearce

A HUGE project to list all pre-1858 Isle of Wight burials online is being undertaken by volunteers.

Members of the Isle of Wight Family History Society are working with staff from the Isle of Wight Record Office to transfer the entire index to the web.

The project is unlikely to be completed and cross-checked against the original registers before 2014.

Excellent news. First county to complete the post 1837 births, marriages and deaths online and now we will have the burials. Great work!
