ELEVEN jobs will be lost on the Isle of Wight following the closure of an energy company’s distribution centre.
The Mark Group is closing its Newport branch next month, however all Island employees have been given the option of working for the company elsewhere.
A spokesperson said: "The decision to close the branch was not an easy one but coincides with the lease expiring on the company’s base at Dodnor Industrial Estate."
The company said it will continue to install energy saving measures on the Island but will work from its Fareham branch.
The Mark Group installs cavity wall insulation, loft insulation and a range of solar hot water and electricity systems.
The company has been involved in providing insulation under the Island Insulation Scheme, with the Isle of Wight Council. The scheme is due to run until December, or could end sooner if targets are met and the grant money is used.
