A NEW television advert promoting the Isle of Wight has been created by Visit Isle of Wight.
The video features a voiceover by Isle of Wight actress Celia Imrie and promotes the Island's history, outdoor activities and attractions, declaring it 'the UK's adventure Island.'

Great promotional advert for the island. Its just a shame the island is spoilt by a few people that really need to look inwards to themselves before they force their opinions on others. ..Still Im sure we can discus this with them on the next beach clean up which Im sure they will all attend.

Sorry you found the comment boring, but as I was referring to an earlier comment I wouldn't call it off topic ... And whether you like it or not the Island is looking untidy & unkempt, first impressions count and visitors are unlikely to return if the place looks a mess regardless of how much is thrown at promo material.

B Lane, keep your boring, off topic comments to yourself. Why does the Island have to be negative even under a promotional video for tourism

Its not only the roads Barbara, have you seen the state of the hedges & verges lately, the view from most roads now isn't green countryside its hedgerow, a lot of the scenic views are being lost by the lack of cutting & when they do it seems that they don't cut the top, just thin out the sides a bit. Take the main Ventnor - Shanklin road, you used to be able to see luccombe & the Channel from there, not anymore. The Island is starting to look decidedly shabby & uncared for.

Celia Imrie has such a beautiful voice with every word clearly pronounced, such a good actress. The Island looks beautiful and is beautiful, and well worth a visit, there are many discounts on offer just have to look. Have to add the one thing that spoils the Island is messy Newport and the roads, come on Island Roads, do you really need ten men or nineteen on one occasion to do a small stretch of road, the money will not last long at this rate.
