HUNDREDS of youngsters and adults across the Isle of Wight have been tucking into Island produce as part of Farmhouse Breakfast Week.

The national event encourages people to try out tasty local foods, while promoting healthy eating and an active, healthy lifestyle.

On Friday, children at Brighstone Primary School enjoyed a tasty breakfast of bacon and sausage baps produced by Isle of Wight farmers.

And on Saturday, an estimated 250 people went to the West Wight Sports Centre to try out Island produce and take part in a range of sporting events.

The display at the sports centre was attended by the Lord Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight, Major General Martin White and Caroline Knox, chairman of the National Farmers Union (NFU) Isle of Wight.
