CRUCIAL services are getting bugged about the Millennium.

Lambeth Southwark and Lewisham Health Authority, the Police, Lewisham College, and London Underground met Lewisham Council to discuss their plans to tackle the issue.

They signed Lewisham's Pledge 2000 document, which outlines the council's promise to help everyone tackle the bug.

The event follows on from Lewisham's Millennium Bug conference for businesses earlier this year, attended by more than 200 companies.

Deputy Leader Cllr Me Ling Ng said: "It is essential the public sector and other utilities join together to beat the Millennium Bug. By sharing information and planning together, we can make sure we are fully prepared."
