FIVE joyriders fled Battlefield Road in St Albans after their stolen Chrysler Voyager overturned and ploughed into a garden wall and a lamp-post on Tuesday, December 18.
"How they managed to get out I don't know," said firefighter Trevor Ray, who was called to the scene at 8.45 pm.
Residents saw five people run off after the car which had false number plates rolled over, damaging trees and a garden wall, before smashing into a lamp-post, which ended up wedged underneath a parked car.
Police enquiries are continuing, after they interviewed a number of individuals in the area.
