THE ISLE of Wight Steam Railway, tree climbing company Goodleaf and an eco-friendly cottage in Shorwell have been shortlisted for prestigious tourism awards.
They are competing in the Beautiful South Awards for excellence held by Tourism South East against businesses and attractions from across the south.
Brookside Cottage has been shortlisted in the sustainable tourism category, Goodleaf Tree Climbing which offers tree climbing experiences is up for an award in the best tourism category and the Isle of Wight Steam Railway in Havenstreet could scoop the large attraction category.
Peter Colling, managing director of Tourism South East, said: "The standard of all entrants is exceptional this year and the shortlist selection has proved extremely challenging.
"In the current economic climate, it is more important than ever to provide an outstanding visitor experience and we are delighted to recognise their efforts. I congratulate all who have been shortlisted."
