Eight groups from the Crystal Palace area have been successful in the third round of community grants awarded by the Crystal Palace Partnership.

They will receive sums ranging from £500 to £1,600 which will help fund a variety of projects, including new equipment and new courses.

Among the groups were the 2nd Croydon Scout Group and the Yellow Birds Community Steel Band, Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace Partnership Scheme Director, Barbara Thompson, said: "The grants will give a much needed boost to a wide range of community groups and their activities.

"It is very rewarding that comparatively small amounts of money can reap such enormous benefits," she said.
