AN Isle of Wight woman has appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court charged with attempted murder.
Sara Peckham, 42, of Cowes, first appeared before Island magistrates two weeks ago, when she was remanded in custody.
She appeared at Portsmouth yesterday (Tueday) via a video link.
David Jenkins, for Peckham, said: "The charge is of attempted murder. This was at a time when the defendant was distressed."
No further details about the alleged offence were given in court, and no plea was entered by Ms Peckham.
The case was adjourned by Judge Richard Hetherington until October 30, to enable psychiatric reports to be carried out.
