A FAMILY-run Isle of Wight business is playing a starring role in a national exhibition.
A. J. Wells and Sons, Newport, gained a place at the Make it in Great Britain exhibition at the Science Museum, London, ahead of hundreds of companies.
The exhibition, which runs until September 9, aims to change people’s views about the country’s manufacturing industry.
The family-run firm, which received a Queen’s Award for enterprise earlier this year, has specialised in enamelled signs for London Underground and Charnwood wood-burning stoves for 40 years.
Managing director John Wells said: "After months of planning, it is fantastic to see our exhibit representing the British manufacturing industry in the Science Museum, alongside iconic companies like McLaren, Airbus, The Royal Mint and Sunseeker.
"We are passionate about UK manufacturing and cannot wait to show people what a vibrant industry it is."
