The Isle of Wight County Press has launched an online archive.
FROM today (Monday) almost 130 years of Isle of Wight history will be made available online thanks to an ambitious project by the Isle of Wight County Press.
Working with Island web company Matrix Create, we have digitised the extensive archive of Isle of Wight County Press editions, dating back to our launch in 1884.
To access the archive, click here or select the new tab at the top of the homepage. If the tab is not displayed, please try reloading the page.
To find out more about the project and how to make the most of the new archive, please see the Isle of Wight County Press, Friday, April 4.

I immediately subscribed for a year. It was considerably less than the British Newspapers Online site, but obviously less content, but worth every penny to me. You can only search for a specific subject at the moment, but it would be good if it were possible to access the individual pages of each issue without a specific search term.

Great Idea, Great price but teething probs are annoying me! Taking ages to load the archive and then it's a blank page?

I think the subscription prices seem fair, but the page credits are overpriced by quite a large amount.

I though this was going to be really good but take a look at the free page about Queen Victoria's funeral. Even when you zoom in you cant read the text. Way to expensive.
