GERMAN company Eurogreen Ltd came to the rescue of Rivercray FC's junior section when it was short of funds.

Chairman of St Paul's Cray Residents Association Colin Willetts aproached the company and was delighted when it offered £1,000 to the club

Manager of the U15s side Vic Pryor said his team would have struggled without the cash boost. "Obviously we're very grateful to Eurogreen for keeping the club going," he said.

Mr Willetts said: "I was happy to assist in the deal as it is crucial that the club has all available finances to maintain its structure for the benefit of all our up-and-coming youngsters in the Crays." The money has been spent on 40 new strips for the 11 to 15-year-olds at Rivercray and training for the players at both the Priory School, Orpington, and Kemnal Technology College, St Paul's Cray.

The U15s have reached the semi-final of the London Youth Football Association Cup and are placed in the top three of the Bexley A division with games in hand.

On March 1, they defeated league leaders Phoenix 2-0 and on Sunday they registered a 2-1 wn over Kingfisher.
