A number of disabled people have contacted me about the Labour Council's shocking attitude to disabled bays.
They tell me that the council have advised them to build driveways into their front gardens.
This seems wrong as surely if residents wanted to convert their front gardens into driveways, they would have already done this.
Where a disabled bay is requested, surely it should be considered by the council.
Asking elderly and disabled residents to go to the expense of constructing a driveway (and crossover) at their own expense seems unjust and morally wrong.
When the Liberal Democrats tried to raise the matter at a recent Environment Scrutiny Committee, the Labour chairman of Scrutiny refused to discuss disabled parking bays, saying it was not urgent.
This seems wrong, as to the residents concerned it is urgent.
The Liberal Democrats will be questioning the massive allowances paid to the Labour Scrutiny, given that they seem unwilling to scrutinise their own policy in this area.
If this matter is of concern to any readers, then I would urge them to contact me at 9 Sudbury Crescent, Wembley, HA0 2LZ.
