RESIDENTS are invited to try-out low-cost quality fruit and veg at a new co-operative store.
Hare Street Local Food Co-operative based at the Lock-Up, Northbrooks House, off Helions Road, Harlow, will officially open its doors from 9am to 2pm on Tuesday, where free tasters of produce will be up for grabs.
The Co-operative which is supported by Harlow Council, the Co-op and Harlow Co-operative Development Agency, is run by volunteers which keeps the cost of fruit and veg low.
Residents can be tempted by prices such as onions for 20p a pound and potatoes for 10p a pound. Free recipe leaflets and a free prize draw will also be available on the open day.
