TWO people from the Isle of Wight were involved in a crash near Southampton at the weekend.

The pair, a 55-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman, both from Ventnor, sustained minor injuries after the Triumph Rocket motorcycle they were travelling on collided with a central reservation on the M271.

The crash occurred on Sunday, at around 12.55pm.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service sent water tenders from Eastleigh, Winchester and St Mary's and a rescue engine from Redbridge to help with a clear up of the road.

*Police had appealed for witnesses, but have since spoken to the parties involved and said no further action will be taken.
