The boss of the Oval in The Parade says business is now booming as more people stop by to get at the unique hole-in-the-wall.

When the Woolwich bank in the same parade of shops closed its doors for the last time, it left its empty ATM still in position.

But officials realised it had to be removed when a bookies took over: gambling laws ban bets on credit.

A spokesman for the Woolwich said the bank was more than pleased when Oval Dry Cleaners' director Ersan Mehmet agreed to have the machine inserted into his wall.

Mr Mehmet said: "I have been informed it's the first machine in the country to be installed in a dry cleaners. I feel we are providing a service for the community."
