Radlett Centre organisers are looking forward to their busiest ever season this autumn.

Martin Gardner, manager at the Aldenham Avenue arts venue, told a parish council meeting three recent shows had played to full houses. They featured household names Pam Ayres and Wendy Craig, as well as the Radlett Light Opera Society.

The July and August drama workshops for children were nearly full, he said, and due to demand the programme of drama classes for adults was expanding in the autumn to include an intermediate class, as well as beginners.

Highlights of the upcoming season include an evening's entertainment with broadcaster David Jacobs, a British jazz showcase, featuring Kenny Baker, Don Lusher, Jack Parnell, Roy Willox, Brian Lemon and Lennie Bush. But first, on September 13, Sheila Steafel is bringing her one-woman show to the Radlett Centre.

Borehamwood-based mobile phone company One2One held a recent three day conference at the centre and Ridgehill Housing Association occupied the venue for one day. For more information on Radlett Centre events, telephone the box office on 01923 859291.
