A magnificent 90 minutes of entertainment saw Hendon play out an eight-goal thriller for a home win, despite conceding a first-minute goal at Loot Stadium on Saturday.
Keeper Andy Iga, replacing injured Gary McCann was soon picking the ball out of the back of the net as Farnborough made a dream start through Steve Darlington.
Hendon shrugged off the early disappointment and set about Boro. The equaliser came after 24 minutes and it was no real surprise. Freddie Hyatt drove a crossfield pass into the path of Davis Haule, who took on a couple of defenders and struck a fine shot inside the post.
Within four minutes, Hendon had the lead when Paul Whitmarsh reacted quickest to a loose ball following a corner.
After 33 minutes, the lead was extended when Gary Fitzgerald outjumped a defender to head home.
However, Hendon were caught napping from a corner and Kevin James had a free header from 12 yards.
The next goal was probably the decisive one and it went Hendon's way, after 53 minutes. A free kick was drilled downfield, Whitmarsh won the chase and beat the advancing Mackenzie with a low shot for his 13th goal of the season.
The visitors were next to score, in the 66th minute. Michael Warner delivered a deep cross which Bruno Mendonca - a pre-season trialist with Hendon reserves ,, headed home.
In stoppage time, Guentchev timed a perfect pass into the path of Scott who had sprung the offside trap. For a third time, MacKenzie found himself facing a Hendon forward running clear at him and Scott scored with a precise drive.
