IT’S going to be a cold weekend, but there is plenty going on to tempt you away from the sofa on the Isle of Wight this weekend.
Island artist Joanna Kuri will unveil her new exhibition, Future reCollections, at Quay Arts this afternoon (Saturday) at 1pm. The display will then be available tomorrow (Sunday) from 10am until 4pm and is a history of Quay Arts come to life through art.
Later this evening (Saturday) at Quay Arts is the Northern Soul evening which kicks off at 7.30pm with a viewing of the film of the same name, followed by an evening of dancing. Tickets are £6.
The Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra will be at Medina Theatre from 7.15pm tonight (Saturday), featuring music from Brahms and Rimsky Korsakov. Tickets are £14.50 with concessions available.
At the Dimbola Lodge, Judy Rodrigues will be displaying her exhibition, Two Stories. This exhibition of paintings and research material focuses primarily on the Freshwater landscape and Dimbola. It’s open all weekend from 10am until 4pm.
Tomorrow there is more music, including the jazz from Digby Fairweather’s Quintet at the Apollo Theatre. The show starts at 3pm and tickets are £12 with concessions available.
Finally, The MoonShiners will be at the Conservative Club, Freshwater, with some rhythm and blues from 9pm tomorrow evening (Sunday).
